The Asociación Cultural Amigos del Descenso Folklórico del Nalón, works over the year to keep the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón presence in the community.
Its members, with the unconditional support of the Partners, work disinterestedly in activities and projects with the aim that every third Saturday of August the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón returns to its appointment with Laviana.
Annual Activities
Since 2013, on a yearly basis, the Asociación Cultural Amigos del Descenso Folklórico del Nalón organizes the Cider Festival of Laviana.
The Association Amigos del Descenso Folklórico del Nalón announces the "Luis Cuevas Memorial" billboard contest each year to select the billboard wich will announce the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón in that year's edition.
An experts panel chooses among all the billboard received the one that best reflects the spirit of the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón.
One of the most traditional activity to promote the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón is the distribution of the "Luis Cuevas Memorial" contest winning billboard to inform all followers of the date of the next edition.
A guide is published and distributed to visitors to inform them about the parade schedule, parking areas, tips & tricks for better enjoy the experience, and other useful information.

Since 2013, following Saturday to the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón, a "sextaferia" is schedule by the Asociación Amigos del Descenso Folklórco del Nalón to clean the Nalón river from Puente de Arcu to La Chalana.
Members of the association, members of the Peñas and volunteers participate in this initiative. As well companies like COGERSA support it providing cleaning stuf.
Included on the activities of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Descenso Folklórico del Nalón, former organizers (Peña "Asturcón") repainted the wall at the entrance of Pola de Laviana recalling the traditional colors.
